This summer season is full of big names with even bigger budgets. From superheroes to rebooted franchises, the summer has a movie for everyone. Summer 2017 will have multiple genres including family, horror, and extreme fantasy.


Alien: Covenant

This film has been long awaited by science-fiction film fans. It is a sequel to the film Prometheus released in 2012. This is the 6th film in the franchise of this movie series. The movie is lead by actor, Michael Fassbender as well as actress Katherine Waterston who made her debut in the film Michael Clayton. The film is expected to gross $40 to $50 million in its opening weekend.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 73% freshness, stating that it is a satisfying experience in the world of Director, Ridley Scott.


The Mummy

Tom Cruise is leading this reboot of The Mummy franchise. His name alone is going to draw many to theaters to see his performance along with Star Trek Beyond star, Sofia Boutella. The film will be released to U.S. theaters June 9th, 2017.


Wonder Woman

DC Comics is given Warner Bros. the reigns on this upcoming film. Wonder Woman is one of the most anticipated superhero movies of the summer. Set around the era of WWI, Gal Gadot portrays the leading Amazonian princess alongside Chris Pine who plays U.S. Army Captain Steve Trevor. The film is set to be released in U.S. theaters June 2, 2017, in 2D and 3D. This PG-13 film is one that any comic book or superhero fan must see this summer.


Cars 3

This summer’s Pixar film is none other than Cars 3. It is returning with all of the original voice actors from Owen Wilson to Larry the Cable Guy. This time around, Lighting McQueen has suffered a terrible crash and is training for his big return. Cars 3 is definitely a movie for the entire family this summer. The Dark Tower

This American science fiction meets western action flick is going to create a lot of buzz this summer. From the mind of Stephen King comes gunslinging characters to protect the Dark Tower. This tower is a mythical building that inhabits multiple realities. The film stars Idris Elba alongside the nemesis, Matthew McConaughey as Walter Padick. The Dark Tower is expected to spark a lot of talk this summer with the return of a strong Stephen King film.
